New and improved parcel lables on all WebGIS sites!  We have updated the parcel labels on all of the WebGIS sites. Street numbers, Parcel ID's and parcel areas are now layers that can be turned on or off. Areas appear in square feet for values under 1 acre and in acres for values over 1 acre. The street number lables have been updated to be the same as what appears on the paper tax maps. Also added are labels for easements and the Wetland Conservancy District. The wetlands conservancy district labels correpsond to the 1975 study. Wetlands were grouped into different categories and described in the report. These category ids are displayed on the paper maps available in the NRC office, but are now also displayed on the WebGIS maps. In the future we will be scanning the 1975 study and making it availble as a pdf file on the WebGIS site.

New "Zoom Previous" tool!  Feedback from users has resulted in this new and very useful tool for the WebGIS. Users were expressing frustration with not being able to use the browser's "Back" button as they are used to. However, we can add a tool to the mapping interface that will allow users to accomplish what they need to. If you are using the site and accidentaly pan or zoom to a location you didn't want to be in, just use the "Zoom Previous" button until you are back where you want to be. This new and very useful tool is the third button from the left above the map frame.

Coming Soon - Septic System Plans:  Septic System Plans are currently being scanned in the Health Division Office. Once the scanning is completed and the files have been processed, they will be available to staff and the public through the new Document Management Tool on the WebGIS.

NEW Site Design:  We have changed the design of our WebGIS to accomodate more functions and allow for site expansion. Our new design is more modular in appearance, with a layout that fits laptop computers as well as desktop screens. Our focus was to fit more functions in a smaller space, and we believe we have done that. We are excited about the new look, and we look forward to the website's future as we add more information and capabilities.

NEW Improved Printing:  Printing has changed on the new site as well. Maps are now generated as Adobe Acrobat documents. You will need Adobe Reader (available for free here) to view, save, and print maps. The Adobe Reader toolbar even lets you markup the maps and email them to a friend! You can set the scale of the map, the title, and the page size. We feel these advancements in printing will enhance the value of our WebGIS for many users.

NEW Document Manager:  One main difference is how we now access digital documents. Before, you could access documents related to a parcel if you queried that parcel first. Now, we have a new "Documents" map layer, with symbols over every parcel that has related documents available. This new approach allows you to see the availability of digital documents throughout a neighborhood without having to review each parcel. Digital documents for other map features will also be made available through this same map layer in the coming months.

NEW Help Page:  All of the website's features are explained in the new Help Page. We encourage you to take some time with this Help to become familiar with all functions. We believe this new WebGIS has more to offer, therefore there is more to understand. We have written our Help Page with this in mind. Be patient. We think you will enjoy the expanded functionality once you are used to the new site.
