The Info Tab provides two different looks; the first presents
the results of property searches and Identify Features Tool results, the second presents abutters lists.
(1) Lets discuss the first version of the Info Tab first (Figure 1). In response to the Find Property functions or using the
Identify Features Tool, the Info Tab presents feature information in its upper window. This window shows basic
information, usually three columns of data. The left-most column will contain information as a link to more information.
The user can click on one of these links to gain further information about that particular map feature.
After clicking a link in the upper window, more information about that feature is presented in the lower window (Figure 2).
The map window will also zoom-to the selected map feature so the user can see the feature and all of its information
at the same time.
(2) The second version of the Info Tab presents abutters lists in response to the user's request for abutters (Figure 3).
This abutters list can be downloaded to the user's computer or printed on the user's printer.
One additional option on some
MapsOnline websites allows users to download a comma-delimited file (often referred to as comma-separated-values or csv) for use in
desktop software packages to produce mailing labels, form letters, and other documents. Click on the download csv option and
save this file on your computer in a place you can remember so you can access this file from your desktop software.
A second additional option on some MapsOnline websites allows users to create mailing labels for abutters directly from MapsOnline.
Click on the labels option and wait a moment for a new window to appear (Figure 4). This new window will present your labels.
Currently, MapsOnline's labels support Avery Form 5160/8160 only (this is a very common labels format for municipal operations).
Note that once this form is presented to you, you can print your abutters to your printer (with your label forms loaded in the paper tray).
More importantly, you can adjust the starting point from the upper left-most label position to any position on the label form. This is
extremely helpful if you have a partially-used label form, which is very common. With this flexibility, you will waste less forms.
