| Map Tools |

Zoom-In Tool allows you to focus on a specific, smaller area of the map. Click the Zoom-In Tool and then either click the map near the center of the region you are interested in or click-and-drag a rectangle surrounding the area. The Zoom-In tool can be used multiple times to move closer and closer to desired areas. |

Zoom-Out Tool allows you to focus on a larger area of the map than is currently displayed. Click the Zoom-Out button and then click the map near the center of the larger area you are interested in. The Zoom-Out tool can be used multiple times to view larger and larger areas. |

Zoom To Full Extents Button allows the user to quickly reset the map view to the original map extent. This is the map extent that you saw upon opening the webpage. There is no need to click on the map to activate this tool - it is activated as soon as you click the Zoom to Full Extents button. |

Pan Tool allows the user to click and drag the map in any direction. The map view will refresh after being moved. |

Identify Feature Tool allows the user to click on a map feature and receive information about that feature in the Info Tab. This tool is useful for clicking on a property to receive ownership information, or clicking on a building to get an address, etc. |

Clear Selection Button enables the user to clear selected map features. Map features become selected when the user conducts a search or advanced search which results in the map highlighting and zooming to particular features. These highlighted features are referred to as "selected". |

Measure Tool enables the user to click on two or several locations in the map window to
generate distances between clicks. The distances between clicks are reported in the Distance Box found just below the Map
Window. |

QuickMap Tool is an optional tool used to open a new window and produce a printable map in PDF format. The user must have Adobe Reader on their computer to view this format (available for download here). The printable map will honor the current settings for Title and page size on the Print Page. The printable map generated by the QuickMap Tool will always honor the current mapscale. |

Configure Map Tips Tool is an optional tool used to configure maptips for map features, including specific attributes of individual layer features. An example of maptips would be the Parcel-ID and Address for properties popping up as the user passes the mouse each parcel on the map. This functionality can make the site more efficient for many users who master this tool, especially for presentations and research. |

View Photo Tool is an optional tool which opens a photo or photo list after the user clicks on a photo point or marker. The View Photo Tool will open JPEG photos, PDF photos/images/documents, and Virtual Tour Photos. |

Document Viewer Tool is an optional tool for those MapsOnline websites that include digital documents linked to points on the map. Using this tool, users can click on document symbols on the map to view digital documents relevant to those locations. Examples of relevant documents might include deeds and subdivision plans for parcels or tie-cards for a utility system. |

Add/Remove Feature Tool is an optional tool for those MapsOnline websites that provide the ability to add or remove properties from abutters maps and abutters lists. This tool allows the user to add a property to a resulting abutters map, or remove a property from a resulting abutters map. This is essentially a tool that allows the user to "fine tune" their abutters map and abutters list to meet their needs. |
